The White-bellied Woodstar (Chaetocercus mulsant) is a tiny South American hummingbird which is found in mountain habitats from Columbia south to parts of Bolivia. The female shown here was perched at a feeder near Machu Picchu, Peru, in July, 2006. The image was taken with a Canon EOS 1D Mark II and EF 300mm F/4 L IS lens and 2X extender.
