| The Verdin (Auriparus flaviceps) is a small desert bird of the American Southwest and many areas of Mexico. Its bright yellow face and reddish shoulder patch are distinctive. The Verdin shown at right was in Tucson, Pima Co., Arizona, in April, 2005, and was digitally photographed with a Canon EOS 1D Mark II and EF 600mm F/4 L IS lens and 2X extender. |  |
