Tufted Puffin
Fratercula cirrhata
The Tufted Puffin (Fratercula cirrhata) breeds along the Pacific coast from California north to Alaska. The first two shots here were taken at a breeding colony in Sidney, British Columbia, Canada, in July, 1991, with a Canon T-90 and an FD 400mm F/5.6 lens.
The next two shots showing Tufted Puffins in flight were taken in Glacier Bay National Park, Alaska, in August, 2008, with a Canon EOS 1D Mark III and EF 500mm F/4 L IS lens.
The Tufted Puffin on the right was at Seward, Alaska, in June, 2012.
