Perithemis lais is a member of the genus usually referred to as amberwings in the United States, but no common names have been assigned to the South American species as of yet. The male in the top 3 shots on this page was in a marshy area near the Rio Sucusari, Departmento de Loreto, Peru, in July, 2006. These images were taken with a Canon EOS 1D Mark II and EF 300mm F/4 L IS lens and 2X extender and 580 flash. | |
