The tiny robber fly on this page is known as Holopogon snowi. This small robber is only 6 to 7 mm in length and it is hard to spot them as they sit at the tip of a tiny twig. The first six mages on this page were taken in Austin, Travis Co., Texas, in April, 2011. Thanks to Herschel Raney and Mike Thomas for being willing to examine photos of this robber in order to make an identification of this species. The first six images were taken with a Canon EOS 1D Mark IV and a Canon 180mm Macro lens with a 25 and a 15mm extension tube and a Macro Flash.
