Erythrodiplax attenuata
The dragonfly known as Erythrodiplax attenuata is apparently a common and widespread species along large rivers in Peru. We found the species in abundance along virtually any riverbank we visited. The males and females on this page were photographed in July, 2006, along the Rio Sucusari, Departmento de Loreto, Peru, with a Canon EOS 1D Mark II and EF 300mm F/4 L IS lens and 2X extender and 580 flash.
