Arroyo Bluet
Enallagma pravarum
The Arroyo Bluet (Enallagma pravarum) is fairly widespread across the western United States from the Dakotas to Texas and westward. It also occurs south into southern Mexico and Belize. The shots here, digital captures, were all taken in September, 2004, in Presidio Co., Texas. All photos were taken with a Canon EOS 1D Mark II and EF 180 mm F/3.5 Macro lens with a 1.4X extender and 550 EX flash.
The male Arroyo BLuet on the right was on the Brett Gray Ranch, Lincoln Co., Colorado, in July, 2011. This shot was taken with a Canon EOS 1D Mark IV and a Sigma 50-500mm lens and Canon 580 flash.

The male Arroyo Bluet here was at Bass Canyon, Muleshoe Ranch Management Area, Cochise Co., Arizona, in August, 2013.
