The Black-tailed Rattlesnake (Crotalus molossus) is a venomous snake of the southwestern United States in parts of Texas, New Mexico and Arizona. The species occurs south as far as Oaxaca, Mexico. The individual shown in the top 8 images shown here is the Northern Black-tailed Rattlesnake (Crotalus molossus molossus). This snake was from Santa Cruz Co., Arizona, and the images were taken in March, 2009, and the images were taken with a Canon EOS 1D Mark III and an EF 70-200mm F/2.8 L IS lens.
