Microstylum galactodes
Microstylum galactodes is one of the largest robber flies in Texas and like M. morosum is an impressive beast to watch in the field. The first 5 shots on this page were taken on a warm, muggy morning at Goliad State Park, Goliad Co., Texas in July, 2010. Dew may be seen on the backs of the robbers in some of the shots. These shots were taken with a Canon EOS 1D Mark IV and a Sigma 50-500mm lens and Canon 580 flash.
