This Long-jawed Spider (family Tetragnathidae, genus Tetragnatha) is probably not identifiable to species from this photo. This spider had a web set up over a stream and it has captured a male Dusky Dancer (Argia translata) as prey. These are digital shots taken at Honey Creek State Natural Area, Comal Co., Texas, in July, 2005, with a Canon EOS 1D Mark II and EF 300mm F/4 L IS lens and 2X extender and 580 flash.
