Robust Toad Lubber (Phrynotettix robustus)

The *Robust Toad Lubber (Phrynotettix robustus)* is a species of grasshopper in the southwestern United States and parts of Mexico. It is sometimes simply called Toad Lubber, and inhabits canyon floors and other regions in desert habitats. The first 3 images shown here show an individual at Big bend Ranch State Park, Presidio Co., Texas, in September, 2009. These images were taken with a Canon EOS 1D Mark III and EF 300mm F/4 L IS lens and 2X extender and 580 flash.
