| The Red Squirrel (Tamiasciurus hudsonicus) is the smallest tree squirrel in its range and occurs across most of Canada as well as Alaska and much of the western regions of the lower 48 states. It is also known as the "Pine Squirrel" and "Chickaree" in some areas.
