The Harris's Antelope Squirrel (Ammospermophilus harrisii) is a resident ground squirrel of the American Southwest, occurring in much of Arizona and small areas of New Mexico, California, Nevada, as well as part of northwestern Mexico. It is sometimes called Yuma Antelope Squirrel or Harris's Antelope Ground Squirrel. This squirrel is a solitary animal and does not live in colonies. It is common in some desert and foothill habitats within its range.
