| Painted Crescent Phyciodes picta Cibolo Creek Ranch Presidio Co., Texas 23 August 2013 This western species is very similar to Phaon Crescent but has a plain underside of the rear wing which was observed but not photographed on this invividual. There are also differences in the dorsal forewing pattern such as showing a cream colored median band as well as the creamy spots near the wingtip. |
