The Dusted Skipper (Atrytonopsis hianna) is a widespread but local eastern skipper, ranging from the Gulf Coast of Alabama and Mississippi north to New England and west to the Dakotas and Canada. The first two shots on this page, both males, were taken in the Kisatchie National Forest, Natchitoches Parish, Louisiana, in April, 2011, with a Canon EOS 1D Mark IV and a Sigma 50-500mm lens and Canon 580 flash. I thank Nick Grishin for identifying this species from my photos.
