| As the name implies, the Yellow-crowned Night-Heron (Nyctanassa violacea) is often a nocturnal feeder, but it is often active during the day as well. The adult shown here was photographed at Anahuac N.W.R., Chambers Co., Texas, in April, 1996, with a Canon T-90 and Sigma 500mm F/4.5 lens and 1.4X extender on Fuji Sensia. The wid was blowing which the two plumes on its head to stand up. |  |
