| The Sooty Grouse (Dendragapus fuliginosus) is a recent "split" from the Blue Grouse complex. The Sooty Grouse is a bird of the coastal mountains of the western United States and Canada. The two shots here of female Sooty Grouse were taken on Hurricane Ridge, Olympic National Park, Clallam Co., Washington in June, 1999. The shots were taken with an EOS 1N and EF 300mm F/4 L Is lens and 1.4X extender on Fuji Sensia film. |
