The Northern Waterthrush (Seiurus noveboracensis) nests across much of Canada as well as some areas of the northern United States. The individual shown here was wintering in southern Tamaulipas, Mexico, near the Gulf of Mexico in woodland near a lake. This image was taken with a Canon EOS 1D Mark II and an EF 600mm FD/ 4 L IS lens and 2X extender in December, 2004.
