Masai Sprite
Pseudagrion massaicum
The Masai Sprite (Pseudagrion massaicum) is widespread over much of east, central and southern Africa. The species frequently perches on lily pads as shown or on other vegetation close to the water. The shot of a male shown here was taken near Nylsvley, Limpopo Province, South Africa in January, 2006, with a Canon EOS 1D Mark II and EF 300mm F/4 L IS lens and 2X extender with a 580 flash.
