Columbina passerina
The Common Ground-Dove (Columbina passerina) is a resident species of the southern United States from California to Florida and South Carolina. The species occurs all the way south into northern South America. The shots here were taken in Hidalgo Co., Texas in April and May, 2006. The images were shot with a Canon EOS 1D Mark II and EF 600mm F/4 L IS lens and a 1.4X extender.
