Black-crested Titmouse
Baeolophus atricristatus
Within the United States, the Black-crested Titmouse (Baeolophus atricristatus) occurs mainly in southern and parts of western Texas. The species also occurs in northeast Mexico. The bird shown shown here was photographed in Kenedy Co., Texas, in February, 2000, with a Canon EOS 1N and EF 600mm F/4 L lens on Fuji Velvia.
The singing titmouse here was photographed in Austin, Travis Co., Texas in April, 2005 and the next shot was in Fort Davis, Jeff Davis Co., Texas, in June, 2005. Both these images were with a Canon EOS 1D Mark II and EF 600mm F/4 L IS lens and 2X extender.
The next two shots were taken in April, 2006, in Hidalgo Co., Texas with a Canon EOS 1D Mark II and EF 600mm F/4 L IS lens and 2X extender.
