Gilded River Cruiser
Macromia pacifica
The Gilded River Cruiser (Macromia pacifica) is an uncommon species that ranges across parts of the mid west and south from parts of Ohio and Indiana southwest into parts of Texas. Gilded River Cruisers show more yellow than do other members of the genus. The species does not seem to be readily found at any one location and is usually considered uncommon to rare and quite local. The male in the top 3 shots shown here was netted along the Fourche Renault Creek in Washington Co., Missouri, in June, 2009 and was posed for these images.
