| The Varied Thrush (Ixoreus naevius) breeds in moist woodlands, usually conifers, from northern California through Alaska. It winters well into southern California and may show up almost anywhere in the United States at that season. The first three images on this page show a Varied Thrush at Chugach State Park, near Anchorage, Alaska, in June, 2012. It was a gray day and the images were taken against a white sky. |  |
