Porphyrula martinica
The Purple Gallinule (Porphyrula martinica) occurs in fresh water marshes in the southeastern United States and parts of Mexico. It was photographed with a Canon EOS 3 and EF 600mm F/4 L lens with a 1.4X extender on Fuji Velvia. The next shot was taken at Anahuac N.W.R., Chambers Co., Texas, in April, 1999, with a Canon EOS 1N and the same lens and film as above.
