The Vesper Bluet (Enallagma vesperum) is a widespread eastern and northern damselfly. Though it may be fairly common, it is often overlooked due to its habits of flying during the last light of the day or in the very early morning. Sometimes it may be encountered in dense, dark vegetation near the edges of a pond or lake, but it is a species that decidedly prefers shady and dark areas.
