The Three-striped Dasher (Micrathyria didyma) is a tropical dragonfly which is only found in south Florida and south Texas within the U.S. It usually prefers shady habitats and can be quite hard to spot on occasion. The male and female shown in the top 2 images here were at Bentsen S.P., Hidalgo Co., Texas, in June, 2008. These shots were taken with a Canon EOS 1D Mark III and EF 300mm F/4 L IS lens and 2X extender and flash.
The next 5 shots shown here show 3 images of a female and 2 images of a male Three-striped Dasher.
