Slaty Skimmer
Libellula incesta
The Slaty Skimmer (Libellula incesta) is an all black skimmer of the southeastern U.S. It can be very common in parts of east Texas. The first digital captures here were all taken in June, 2003, in east Texas and were shot with a Canon EOS 10D and EF 70-200 mm F2.8 L IS lens with a 2X extender and 550 EX flash. The first shot of a male was taken in the Angelina National Forest, Angelina Co., Texas.
