The *Masai Sprite (Pseudagrion massaicum)* is widespread over much of east, central and southern Africa. The species frequently perches on lily pads as shown or on other vegetation close to the water. The shot of a male shown here was taken near Nylsvley, Limpopo Province, South Africa in January, 2006, with a Canon EOS 1D Mark II and EF 300mm F/4 L IS lens and 2X extender with a 580 flash.
