| The robber fly in first image on the right is Laphria aktis. My thanks to Michael Thomas for making this identification while we were together inthe field. This species is visually almost identical to Laphria sericea which was also present at he same place. This shot was taken at Black Rock Lake, near Mountain City, Georgia, in May, 2011, with a Canon EOS 1D Mark IV and a Sigma 50-500mm lens and Canon 580 flash. |  |
