| The Fawn Darner (Boyeria vinosa) is a resident over much of the eastern United States. The brown body with the two yellow spots on the thorax are quite distinctive. The shot on this page was a digital capture with a Canon 10D and EF 70-200 F/2.8 L IS lens and 2X extender and 550 EX flash in the Sam Houston National Forest, San Jacinto Co., Texas in late May 2004. |

| The Fawn Darners in the next seven shots were found along a dry creek bed near the Mountain Fork River, in McCurtain Co., Oklahoma, in July, 2011. It was an extremely hot day and the darners were found roosting in shaded areas on and under the rocky outcropping along the creek bank. |
