The Diminutive Clubtail (Gomphus diminutus) is a small dragon with a very small geographic range in parts of North and South Carolina and far eastern Georgia. It inhabits boggy ponds, lakes and streams and may be locally common in soma areas. The first two shots were taken at Campbell Lake, Sandhills State Forest, Chesterfield Co., South Carolina, in may, 2012. The next three shots were taken at nearby Cheraw State Park. The first five shots are all of males and were all taken with a Canon EOS 1D Mark IV and a Sigma 50-500mm lens and Canon 580 flash.
