Cinnamon Shadowdragon (Neurocordulia virginiensis)

Like other members of its genus, the *Cinnamon Shadowdragon (Neurocordulia virginiensis)* typically flies only at dusk. This species flies low and fast over rivers and streams with moderate currants, typically at dusk and less frequently at dawn. The three shots of a female on the right were posed since natural photos are very difficult to obtain. These shots were taken along the Chattooga River, Rabun Co., Georgia, in May, 2011, with a Canon EOS 1D Mark IV and a Sigma 50-500mm lens and Canon 580 flash.
