The Blackwater Clubtail (Gomphus dilatatus) is a southeastern dragonfly of rivers and streams with sandy or silty bottoms. It is superficially similar in appearance to Cobra Clubtail, but is larger with a different pattern on the club. The first four shots on this page, all of males, were taken along the Towaliga River, High Falls State Park, Monroe Co., Georgia, in May, 2011, with a Canon EOS 1D Mark IV and a Sigma 50-500mm lens and Canon 580 flash.
