The Black-tailed Bluet (Azuragrion nigridorsum) ranges from central Africa to Zululand and into northeastern South Africa. Its preferred habitat is still water, such as small ponds, dams, etc. The shot here of a male was taken at a pond near Nylsvley, Limpopo Province, South Africa. The shot was taken in January, 2006, with a Canon EOS 1D Mark II and EF 300mm F/4 L IS lens and 2X extender with a 580 flash.
