The Apache Dancer (Argia munda) is a damselfly of the southwestern U.S., where it occupies desert and mountain streams. The photos here of a male and a pair in tandem were shot along a clear stream in the Davis Mountains of west Texas in June, 2005. The images were a digital captures with a Canon EOS 1D Mark II and EF 180 Macro lens with a 1.4 extender and flash. The coloration of the species can be variable from purple to blue. |
