The Nashville Warbler (Vermivora ruficapilla) is a common migrant across much of the United States. The species breeds in parts of the northeastern U.S. as well as parts of California and the Pacific Northwest and across large areas of Canada. The bird shown here was a spring migrant passing through Starr Co., Texas, in April, 2007. These shots were taken with a Canon EOS 1D Mark II and EF 500mm F/4 L IS lens and 2X extender.
