House Wren
Troglodytes aedon
The House Wren (Troglodytes aedon) nests across much of the United States and Canada. The birds in the first two images were wintering in Kenedy Co., Texas, in January, 2000. The photos were taken with a Canon EOS 1N and EF 600mm F/4 L lens and 1.4X extender on Fuji Provia.
The next two shots show a male House Wren on its breeding territory at a campground in the Pawnee National Grasslands, Weld Co., Colorado, in June, 2001. The shots were taken with the same equipment as above.
