The Great Crested Flycatcher (Myiarchus crinitus) is a widespread summer species in the eastern half of the United States and much of Canada. Its unique vocalizations are a common sound in many wooded neighborhoods as well as swamps and forests of many areas of the country. The first 6 images on this page show a Great Crested Flycatcher in Austin, Travis Co., Texas, in May, 2009. These 6 images were taken with a Canon 50D and an EF 800mm F/5.6 L IS lens.
