The Wolf Spider (family Lycosidae) images shown on this page cannot be identified from photos. They are probably of the genus Pardosa, Hogna or Rabidosa. The one on the right has an egg case attached to it. The spider's back is literally covered with hundreds of baby spiders. See the next shot for a close up. These images were taken in August, 2007, in Austin, Travis Co., Texas, with a Canon EOS 1D Mark III and an EF 300 mm F.4 L IS lens and 2X extender.
The Wolf Spider in the next two shots was in Austin, Travis Co., Texas, in November, 2009. This one is also guarding an egg case. These shots were taken with the same gear as the previous images.
