| The Maine Snaketail (Ophiogomphus mainensis) is a fairly common snaketail of rivers and streams throughout much of the Appalachian Mountains and the far northeastern United States and adjacent Canada. As the name implies, it may be more commonly encountered in Maine than most other areas within its range.
