Great Spreadwing

| The Great Spreadwing (Archilestes grandis) is the largest North American damselfly. It occurs across most of the U.S. where it can be found perching on vegetation along the sides of streams. The first photo here was a digital capture in Travis Co., Texas in April 2003 and was shot with a Canon EOS 10D and EF 300 mm F4 L IS lens with a 1.4 X extender and 550 EX flash. The bottom two photos were also shot in Travis Co., Texas with the same equipment, but in August 2003. |  |
