| The Aurora Damsel (Chromagrion conditum) is a widespread and fairly common damselfly across much of the eastern United States and into Canada. The species ranges south into Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi and Arkansas, west to parts of Arkansas, Missouri, Wisconsin and Minnesota and east and north well into Canada. This species often perches with its wings partially open in a manner similar to the spreadwings. The first 5 images here were taken in June, 2010, along Laurel Draft on Wycoff Run Road, Cameron Co., Pennsylvania, with a Canon EOS 1D Mark IV and an EF 300mm F/4 L IS lens and 2X extender and 580 flash. The next 2 shots were taken at Tamarack Bog, Clinton Co., Pennsylvania in June, 2010, with the same photo gear. |  |
