The Vesta Crescent (Phyciodes vesta) occurs in parts of Texas and New Mexico but may wander north to Colorado and Nebraska on occasions. The first two images shown here were taken in Victoria Co., Texas, in November, 2009, with a Canon EOS 1D Mark III and an EF 300mm F/4 L IS lens and 2X extender and 580 flash.
