The Mariposa Copper (Lycaena mariposa) is a butterfly of open conifer forests in the northwestern United States and western Canada. The first shot on this page was taken in the Malheur National Forest, Grant Co., Oregon, in July, 2008. This shot was taken with a Canon EOS 1D Mark III and EF 300mm F/4 L IS lens and 2X extender and Canon 580 flash.
