Harris's Checkerspot (Chlosyne harrisii)

The Harris's Checkerspot (Chlosyne harrisii) is a butterfly of wet meadows and bogs in parts of the northern United States and parts of eastern Canada. The image on the right was taken at Buzzard Swamp, Allegheny National Forest, Forest Co., Pennsylvania, in June, 2010, with a Canon EOS 1D Mark IV and an EF 300mm F/4 L IS lens and 2X extender and 580 flash.
