Georgia Satyr
Neonympha areolatus
The Georgia Satyr (Neonympha areolatus) inhabits open pine woods in parts of the southeastern United States west to east Texas. The two shots here were taken in the Big Thicket National Preserve in Tyler Co., Texas, in June, 2003, with a Canon EOS 10D and an EF 70-200mm F/2.8 L IS lens and 2X extender.
