Dusky Roadside-Skipper (Amblyscirtes alternata)

The Dusky Roadside-Skipper (Amblyscirtes alternata) is a tiny butterfly of the southeastern United States. It is uncommon to rare in Texas. The image on the right was taken at Boykin Springs, Angelina National Forest, Jasper Co., Texas, in March, 2011, with a Canon EOS 1D Mark IV and a Sigma 50-500mm lens and Canon 580 flash.
