Plebejus glandon
The Arctic Blue (Plebejus glandon) is a very hardy tiny blue butterfly which occurs from the arctic regions of North America down through the Rocky Mountains to New Mexico. The first 4 shots on this page (a male, then 2 females, then another male) were taken at Boreas Pass above Breckenridge, Summit Co., Colorado, in July, 2008, at about 12,000 feet elevation. These shots were taken with a Canon EOS 1D Mark III and EF 300mm F/4 L IS lens and 2X extender and Canon 580 flash.
