The White-faced Whistling-Duck (Dendrocygna viduata) is another one of those species which occurs on both sides of the Atlantic Ocean. It can be locally common from Panama south to Argentina but also the species is locally common in much of Africa. The shot here was taken near Malelane, Mpumalanga Province, South Africa, in January, 2006. The shot was taken with a Canon EOS 1D Mark II & EF 500mm F/4L IS lens and 1.4X extender.
