The Temminck's Stint (Calidris temminckii) is an old world species which very rarely visits western Alaska as a migrant. I spent a week in May, 2012, at Gambell, St. Lawrence Island, Alaska. Our group was very fortunate to find a Temminck's Stint one afternoon. The bird remained for about half and hour then departed, never to be seen again. The shots on this page were all taken with a Canon EOS 1D Mark IV and an EF 500mm F/4 L IS lens and 1.4X extender.
